What Exactly is an Accredited Data Recipient?
An accredited data recipient (ADR) is a provider that receives data under the CDR. They must meet strict criteria to be accredited by Treasury. Accredited data recipients can request, on behalf of a customer with the customer’s consent, to collect and use data held by a data holder to provide a specific product or service. Under Open Banking, both authorised deposit-taking institutions (ADIs) and non-ADIs can apply to Treasury to become accredited as an ADR.
